Boat House finish line beckons: Welcome sight for MR340 racers

Published by LC Boat House on

More than 400 paddlers of all manner of vessels glided to the Boat House last month, finishing a 340-mile race that began near Kansas City. The Missouri American MR340, an annual fundraiser to benefit river cleanup and education, offered stories of struggle and triumph aplenty.

The awards bash at the finish line was a good time for all.

A corps of volunteers, spearheaded by Nancy Jackson, ensured finishers and fans had plenty to eat and drink, as well as a great place to celebrate. Thanks to all our volunteers and friends who served nachos, tacos, watermelon and beverages were served from 11-7 and beverages, overnight food, and hotdogs all day and night.

The museum was open regular hours and the Boat House was 24/7 for two days.
Thanks to the financial support of Brigitte and Norm Bowers,Bill Brecht, Tom Goedke, Mimi Jackson, Nancy Jackson, Larry Kluesner, Steve Mansfield and the St. Charles Fire Department.
We’re also very grateful to Hermans Farm Orchard in Boschertown for donating amazingly tasty watermelon and tomatoes. HermansFarmOrchard.com
