About Us

Museum and Visitors’ Center

The Museum and Visitors’ Center is located on the second floor of our facilities. The Museum provides living history experiences every year for visitors from all 50 states and more than 40 countries. We are an affordable educational destination for local and regional residents as well.

We are proud to be an official site on the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail.

Explore highlights of the Lewis & Clark Expedition, Native American displays, various Missouri River habitats, and natural discoveries the Corps encountered during the expedition. The museum’s artwork, “Missouri River Walk,” is one of the largest indoor murals in the state.

Classes, private presentations and tour-group talks are conducted in the classroom. When not in use, the classroom features an award-winning film.

Unique items for all ages are available in the Visitors’ Shop featuring a wide selection of books of all reading levels. Titles include those related to Lewis & Clark, Native Americans, general history, local interest, and nature.
