Tours: In Person and Virtual

The Museum has hosted groups from numerous local and regional events and is a primary attraction and educational site in Historic St. Charles, Missouri. The Museum welcomes bus tours, elder hostels, and private groups. An orientation program is available for all visiting adult groups. Group rates for 15 or more participants are available.

We are also fully engaged in hosting virtual tours. Combined with a historical overview of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, we offer a rich, interactive experience that showcases our museum and our interpretative staff. Contact 636-947-3199 or education@lewisandclarkboathouse.org to schedule.

Classes: In-person and Virtual

Each year, over 200 classes from area school districts visit the exhibits depicting the many discoveries made during the expedition. Classes and activities are tailored to school curriculum and field trips are available for all ages.

We are now offering classroom presentations via Zoom. We will work with your teachers and IT staff to ensure a rich, informative and interactive experience. All our teachers and front desk staff are certified teachers and can bring history to life and ensure age-appropriate, engaging presentations. Thanks to video technology, we can and do offer classes to schools all over the United States.

Mr. Brecht, Thank you again for such a wonderful presentation today. All of the 4th-grade teachers said their students were engaged and interested the entire time. Like I said, I could have listened to you talk all day! Looking forward to hopefully scheduling something again for next school year.”

Programs

We have a variety of resources available for educators and Home School programs for history education and instruction. The Museum grounds have over 30 varieties of native plants in the wetland. Our “Outdoor Classroom” features habitats, gardens and flowers indigenous to Missouri and found during the Expedition. Our Museum’s professional instructors can develop historic, nature or environmental programs based on the diverse needs and interests of our educators.
