Planning your next event at the Boat House

Located on the Missouri River in historic St. Charles, our Museum and Boat House offer a unique and conveniently located venue for a variety of organizational, group and corporate events. The classroom can accommodate between 30-50 people, dependent on your event and Covid 19 restrictions at the time. Serving outside refreshments and/or catering are permitted. Rentals can include short presentations on Lewis & Clark or expedition-related topics. The facilities have provisions for audio/visual presentations, video and Internet. Parking is free and plentiful. We are located 15 minutes from Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, and minutes away from Interstate 70, numerous hotels and an easy walk to an historic shopping and restaurant district. Look for details about our facility on Eventective. We are a proud member of the Greater St. Charles Chamber of Commerce. We have a non-denominational ordained minister on staff. Drone photography is available and we have a photographer on staff.

When the boats are not on display, the Boat House and patio are available for outdoor events, programs and special use. The Boat House and adjacent patio are fully equipped with electric, water, toilet facilities as well as a shower. The building is handicapped accessible and a lovely location for breakfasts, meetings, receptions and special events.

Team building, including traditional skills such as axe-throwing, musket firing and fire-starting can all be part of your group’s experience here.
Our staff can help bring history to life and present custom programming for your group

Case Study: Building Corporate Teamwork at the Boat House: When a local construction firm was looking for a setting for a strategic planning/team building site for its executives, they turned to the Boat House and Museum for a unique, memorable opportunity. Rowing the red pirogue, firing a musket, throwing tomahawks and starting fires with flint and steel made for a opportunity to display traditional skills and compete with colleagues. The event was catered by Butler’s Pantry, featuring a plated meal. We’re glad to work with your organization to create the perfect event.

The Missouri River serves as the perfect backdrop for any event.

Case Study: When Will and Libby were looking for an adventure-themed wedding ceremony, including a pre-ceremony bike ride by the wedding party on the Katy Trail, the Boat House was the perfect destination. Late afternoon sunlight with the river as a backdrop made for stunning photos and a perfect stage for the small ceremony on our balcony.

Thank you so much for letting us use the Boat House Museum facilities for our wedding ceremony. It was a perfect venue that captured our personalities and lifestyle. The river in the background and the decorated balcony made for beautiful photos. Thank you for all your generous hospitality and patience as we took over the place. We appreciate the accommodation, letting us in to set up early and allowing use to clean up the next day. The entire event was unforgettable.”  – Will & Libby

Thank you for making our event both memorable and authentic!!!  I know this experience will be forever etched in our memories and we couldn’t have done it without your help!!!!  You and the staff there made us all feel welcome and at home!
